Michael is very keen to promote better foot health education. He has produced a selection of free patient information leaflets on various topics which are available to patients in the surgery.
Since the introduction of the Health Professions Council (HPC), the title State Registered Chiropodist has ceased to be used and changed to Chiropodist or Podiatrist which is a protected title. Since 2005 only those who have satisfied the registration criteria may call themselves a Chiropodist or Podiatrist.
There is no difference between these names but Podiatrist/Podiatry is gradually replacing the old established name Chiropodist/Chiropody to keep in line with other English-speaking countries.
